My name is Irene Perez and I am a passionate frontend web developer, always looking for new opportunities and experiences. Let's start off by telling you a little about my journey to becoming a software engineer. My boyfriend was looking for a career change and somehow he ended up deciding he was going to attend PunchCode, a. front end development bootcamp. As the assignments got harder, my curiosity started peaking. He'd be stuck on a bug or maybe he simply had coder's block, for whatever reason I wanted to help. Knowing darn well I had no prior knowledge of coding lol Anyways! I became intrigued and I wanted to know more. He decided to send me the links to PunchCode's pre-work without me knowing it was pre-work. I did it all. And you could expect he'd get a text in the middle of the night for a very excited Irene because I made my name appear on the screen or I solved a silly bug. This became something I didn't expect to love. Now I talk to all of my friends about how coding reminds me of puzzles and they look at me like I'm some crazy cat lady; "LOOK AT MY CATS!" We can all assume what happened next. You guessed it, I attended PunchCode! For those of you that don't know, PunchCode is an immersive, full-time, 12 week-long coding school in Las Vegas, Nevada. There, the teachers teach students the fundamentals for becoming a Junior Full Stack Web Developer. While it was a difficult journey, now I'm working with Prime Trust, a tech-driven financial institution.
